The CCMS is committed to increasing the number of African Americans and other underrepresented groups participating in the medical field. In 2016, the CCMS endowed a $25,000 scholarship at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.  The UAB CCMS scholarship will benefit deserving medical students based on academic merit and financial need. This scholarship is supported by the generous contributions of CCMS members, corporations, private philanthropic organizations, and proceeds from scholarship benefit efforts.
